Gajar ka halwa or carrot halwa is a popular sweet dish you'll find at every Indian festival and occasion. It's pretty simple to make, follow this recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
- Carrot - 250 gm, grated
- Milk - 500 ml
- Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Cashew nut - 2 tbsp, chopped
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
- Butter/Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Khawa - 50 gm
- First boil the milk for 15 - 20 minutes till the milk is reduced to half in a big bowl .
- Then heat 1 tbsp ghee in another pan . Add the grated carrots . Stir it well . Cook for 1 to 2 minutes .
- Now add milk and mix it well . Let the mixture cook for 10 to 15 minutes . Add the suger , khowa and cardamom powder then mix it very well . Stir it until it gone some dry .
- Add some chopped cashew nut and keep it for cooling 30 to 40 minutes so that it sets nicely and serve it .
