How would you like to come home after a long day of work and treat yourself to an easy to make pizza? Most of the ingredients are always available at home and you can improvise on the recipe on this recipe by adding different types of cheeses and toppings like barbeque chicken, sliced chicken sausages, artichoke hearts or olives as per your taste. You can cut down on the prep time by using bottled pizza sauce and readymade pizza base. Do try out the recipe and enjoy the delicious pizza! INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pizza base (If you want to make it from scratch then follow this link: )
- 1 cup tomato sauce (You may buy a readymade tomato pizza sauce or simply use tomato ketchup. If you wish to make your tomato sauce at home, this link maybe useful: )
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup gouda cheese (or parmesan cheese)
- 1 cup onion (cut into slices)
- 2 green chilies chopped finely
- ½ cup diced red bell pepper
- ½ cup diced green bell pepper
- ½ cup American sweet corn
- ½ cup sauted mushrooms in butter and pepper
- Butter
- Chopped Basil leaves for garnish
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground pepper
- Oregano and Chili flakes for dressing
- METHOD
- Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Centigrade.
- Spread butter on the pizza base. Add a layer of cheese. (I used mozzarella cheese for the base) Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the layer of cheese.
- Add the onions, chilies, American sweet corn, red and green bell pepper. Top it with mushrooms. Spread salt, pepper, oregano and chili flakes over it as per your taste.
- Cover the toppings with another layer of cheese. ( I used gouda cheese)
- Cook in the oven for 20-25 minutes or till the crust turns brown and the cheese melts completely.
- Take it out of the oven and garnish it with basil and serve.
TIPS: You can use this recipe to make a Chicken Delight Pizza. Simple use one boneless chicken breast cut into chunks and marinate it in garlic, salt, pepper, chili powder and herbs. In a pan heat olive oil and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes. Place it over the layer of pizza sauce and cheese and grate another layer of cheese and bake it in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
