Cauliflower Manchurian is a very popular vegetarian Indo-Chinese dish. Give the good ol' Paneer Manchurian a rest and try this out!
INGREDIENTS:
Cauliflower (1 large) - cut into florets
Garlic - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli chopped - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli sauce - 1/2 tsp
Tomato ketchup - 2 tbsp
Soya sauce - 1/2 tsp
Vinegar - 1/2 tsp
White oil - 1 tbsp
For the batter:
Maida - 1/2 cup
Cornflour - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
White oil for deep fry
METHOD:
First make the batter by adding flour , cornflour , salt , pepper and little bit of water. Mix into a thick paste . Pour the batter on the cauliflower florets and mix & coat them well .
Then heat oil in a pan for deep frying the florets until they are golden brown in colour.
Then add chilli sauce , tomato sauce and soya sauce and cook them for about a minute .
Then add vinegar 1/2 cup water salt and sugar mix well and cook it for another couple of minutes .
Add fried cauliflower florets into the sauce and toss them well , enough to coat the cauliflower with the sauce and cook it for about 2 minutes in high flame . Serve hot with your fried rice or hakka noodles.
TIPS: Sprinkle some finely chopped spring onions and toss well just before taking it off the heat.
