Preparation time : 2 hours
Puff pastry also known as 'pate feuillette' is a flaky light pastry containing several layers of butter.
INGREDIENTS:
For puff pastry:
1. 250gms flour
2. Salt- 1tsp
3. Powdered sugar - 2tbsp
4. Milk- 1tbsp
5. Oil-1tbsp
6.Water as required
7. Margarine - 200gms
For Filling :
1. Boiled potatoes
2. Carrots
3.Choopped onions
4.Capsicum
5.Deseeded tomato
6.Salt
7.White pepper
8.Chaat masala
9.Mayonnaise
10.1tbsp oil
METHOD:
For the filling:
Knead everything except margarine and make a smooth dough.
Cover and keep for half n hour. Roll the dough into a rectangular sheet .
Spread Puff margarine and fold both ends .
Fold for 4 to 5 times amd refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes after each fold.
Then finally roll into a thin sheet and place the filling .
Do the egg wash and again keep in fridge for 10minutes and bake at 200℃ for 15 minutes.
For the filling:
Take a little oil in a pan and add all the vegetables ,salt,pepper, chaat masala. Mix everything well ,when it gets cool add mayonnaise and the filling is ready.
TIPS: Make the filling after the pastry is ready to be baked!
