I love chaats! They are so delicious and packed with flavours- sweet, sour and spicy! Here’s my dahi papdi chaat recipe which I tried out yesterday. It’s really simple, all you need is crispy papdis and the other ingredients are almost always available at home! Treat yourself and your loved ones with this mouth-watering delicious appetizer, or you may serve this at your next party and win everyone’s heart!
INGREDIENTS:
1. 24 papdis
2. 2 boiled potatoes, peeled and chopped finely
3. 2 green chilies finely chopped
4. 2 cups yogurt
5. ½ cup of sweet chutney (khajur imli ki chutney)
6. 1 tsp red chili powder
7. 1 tsp cumin or jeera powder
8. 3-4 tbsp peanuts
9. Handful of boondi or bhujiya for garnish
10. Handful of chopped coriander leaves for garnish
11. Salt and sugar to taste
METHOD:
1. Arrange the papdis in a plate.
2. Place the potato and peanut evenly over the papdis. Season the potato with salt.
3. Prepare the yogurt. Whisk it till smooth. Add salt and sugar as per taste. Add in cumin powder and red chili powder. Add half of the chutney and combine well with the yogurt.
4. Pour the yogurt evenly over the papdis.
5. Garnish with boondi and coriander leaves and pour the remaining chutney over this.
6. Serve immediately.
TIPS: You can alter the ingredients as per your choice- you may add in sprouted moong beans, tomato, chickpeas or onion! Similarly, you may use green or mint chutney too!
Prepare this immediately before you want to eat or serve it. Otherwise, the papdi will lose its crispiness and become soggy.
