Wintry days calls for soups. Another successful experiment with my latest kitchen gadget, the Borosil Rice Cooker helped me make this delicious soup. Yes, you've heard it right! Soup with a rice cooker.
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups diced tomatoes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves
- 5 cups water
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
METHOD:
- Place all the ingredients in your rice cooker except the butter. Give it a good stir. Cook in the rice cooker (You can use the on/off button. My cooker had a "Soup" button).
- Once it's done add the butter and seasoning, if required.
- Now place it in a blender and blend well.
- Pass the mixture through a sieve.
- Your tomato soup is ready! Serve hot.
TIPS: Serve with croutons or garlic toast.
